Film developing with care

There's something special about shooting on film. Every frame counts, and the wait to see your photos is half the fun. When you finish a roll, you want a lab you can trust to get the best out of it.

Our team loves film photography as much as you do. We process each roll with care, paying attention to the colours, tones and exposure, so your photos look the way you hoped when you pressed the shutter.

Film formats we develop

  • 35mm colour film. The most popular film format, developed at most stores.
  • Disposable cameras. Bring in the whole camera and we'll take care of the rest.
  • 35mm black and white film. Available at selected stores, and usually takes a little longer.
  • 120 medium format film. Colour and black and white, available at selected stores.
  • 110 and APS film. Available at selected stores.

Not every store develops every film format. Some formats may be sent to another lab, take longer or not be available at your store, so please check with your local store before you drop your film in. If you're shooting slide film or need a specific processing technique, talk to our team about what's possible.

How film developing works

  • Drop your film in. Bring your rolls or disposable camera to your local Camera House. No appointment needed.
  • Choose your options. Tell us whether you'd like digital scans, prints or both, and whether you want your negatives back.
  • We develop your film. Our team processes each roll with care, based on the type of film.
  • Get your photos. We'll send your digital scans by email or link, or let you know when your prints are ready to collect.

Film developing turnaround times

Turnaround times depend on your store and the type of film.

  • 35mm colour and disposable cameras. Same day or next day at many stores.
  • Black and white, 120, 110 and APS. Usually takes longer, as these films are often hand processed.

Please check with your local store for their current turnaround times.

Film developing prices

Each Camera House store sets its own film developing prices. The price depends on the film format, whether you'd like scans, prints or both, and the print sizes you choose. Contact your local store for a price.

Digital scans, prints and negatives

Digital scans

Get your film photos as digital files, ready to share on your phone, post online or print later.

Prints

Choose prints in a range of sizes, in gloss or matt finishes, to put straight into an album or frame.

Your negatives

Ask for your negatives back when you drop your film in, so you can reprint or rescan your favourites any time.

Disposable camera developing

Back from a holiday, wedding or party with a disposable camera? Bring the whole camera in and we'll develop the film inside. You'll get your photos as digital scans, prints or both, just like a regular roll.

Tips for your film

  • Rewind it first. Make sure 35mm film is fully rewound into the canister before you open the camera.
  • Keep it cool and dry. Get exposed film developed as soon as you can, and keep it out of heat and sunlight in the meantime.
  • Old or expired film. We can still develop it, but results can vary, with faded colours or extra grain.
  • Label your rolls. If you're dropping off several rolls, a quick note on each one helps if you want different options.
